1111H, D2, 1211H

High-accuracy chilled mirror sensors for precise dew point measurement across laboratory, HVAC, and industrial applications. The 1111H, D2, and 1211H are fully compatible with Panametrics OptiSonde and Optica analysers, delivering NIST-traceable performance with ±0.2 °C accuracy (optional ±0.15 °C) and a range of operating and pressure configurations to suit different application needs.

The 1111H, D2 and 1211H are chilled mirror sensors for use with Panametrics OptiSonde and Optica analyzers, suited to both new installations and upgrades.

Chilled mirror technology provides a direct measurement of dew and frost point by maintaining a polished mirror at the equilibrium between condensation and evaporation. This primary method delivers stable performance with ±0.2 °C dew point accuracy, with an optional ±0.15 °C dew point specification across all models.

1111H — Single-Stage Sensor
Well suited to laboratory, HVAC and clean gas applications, the 1111H provides 45 °C of mirror depression, giving a typical range down to −15 °C dew point at 25 °C ambient. The upper measurement limit follows the sensor temperature and can extend above typical room conditions when installed in elevated ambient or controlled environments. Rated up to 15 bar (200 psig).

D2 — Two-Stage Sensor
The D2 offers 65 °C of mirror depression, enabling measurement down to −35 °C dew point at 25 °C ambient. As with the 1111H, the maximum dew point increases with operating temperature, allowing measurements above typical room conditions in warmer or controlled environments. Rated up to 11 bar (150 psig).

1211H — High-Pressure, High-Temperature Sensor
The 1211H builds on the D2, combining the same measurement capability with extended pressure (up to 21 bar) and ambient temperature limits (up to 100 °C) for demanding process applications.

All models include the PACER® self-cleaning cycle and can be installed up to 91 m from the analyzer. Platinum mirror options are available.

The 1111H is a single-stage sensor offering 4 °C of mirror depression, with a typical measurement range of −15 °C to +25 °C dew point at 25 °C ambient. The D2 uses two-stage cooling to provide 65 °C of mirror depression, extending the typical range to −35 °C to +25 °C under the same conditions.

The D2 and 1211H share the same measurement range and accuracy. The 1211H is the preferred choice for higher pressure or temperature conditions, with ratings up to 21 bar (300 psig) and +100°C. The D2 is well suited to general industrial use, offering flexible installation and a built-in view port for observing the mirror.

Chilled mirror sensors measure by cooling the mirror below the sensor body temperature, so the achievable range depends on both ambient conditions and the sensor’s cooling capability.
The maximum measurable dew point is typically around 10 °C below the sensor’s operating temperature, while the lowest achievable dew point increases as the sensor body temperature rises.
For example, at 25°C ambient, the 1111H (45°C cooling capability) measures down to about −15°dpC, while the D2 and 1211H (65°C) reach about −35°C. At 40°C ambient, these limits shift to approximately 0°C and −20°C respectively.

Mirror maintenance is minimal. All three sensors support the PACER® automatic cleaning cycle built into the OptiSonde and Optica analyzers, which flashes the mirror to evaporate soluble contamination and rebalances the optical system, typically leaving around 85% of the mirror surface clean without manual intervention.
For heavily contaminated environments, periodic manual cleaning with a cotton swab is straightforward. Mirrors are field-replaceable, and a solid platinum mirror upgrade is available on all variants for enhanced chemical resistance.
