The OptiSonde is a compact, rugged chilled mirror hygrometer designed to deliver reliable, NIST-traceable dew point and humidity measurements in both laboratory and process environments. Based on the proven optical condensation principle, it provides direct, drift-free measurement of dew or frost point, ensuring long-term accuracy and stability.
The analyzer is available with a range of chilled mirror sensors, enabling it to cover a broad measurement span from trace moisture to higher humidity levels. This flexibility allows the OptiSonde to address diverse applications while maintaining the inherent precision of chilled mirror technology.
Designed for ease of use, the OptiSonde features a simple, intuitive interface for clear access to live measurement data, along with built-in data logging for capturing trends and supporting analysis, validation, and reporting.
Its compact footprint and robust construction make it well suited to both controlled laboratory environments and more demanding field installations. Available in benchtop and wall-mount configurations, the OptiSonde can be easily integrated into existing systems or deployed as a standalone solution.
Combining primary measurement performance with practical usability and flexible sensor capability, the OptiSonde provides a dependable solution for accurate and traceable humidity measurement across a wide range of applications.
Yes. The OptiSonde is NIST-traceable and suitable for calibrating secondary instruments such as relative humidity transmitters and polymer or aluminium oxide moisture sensors. It provides the same fundamental optical condensation measurement as higher-tier laboratory hygrometers.
Five sensor families are available. The single-stage 1111H covers –15°C to +25°C with 45°C depression. The two-stage D-2 (with viewing port) and 1211H extend to –35°C with 65°C depression; the 1211H is rated for higher-pressure applications up to 21 bar. The heated SIM-12H handles dew points from –10°C to +75°C. The four-stage 1311DR extends coverage to –65°C (air-cooled) or –75°C (liquid-cooled). All sensors carry the same ±0.2°C accuracy.

No. The OptiSonde electronics and sensors are rated for general purpose locations only and are not approved for use in hazardous (classified) locations. Sample gas must be non-combustible. Please consult Panametrics for guidance on applications requiring measurement in or around potentially hazardous areas.
