PM880

Portable, intrinsically safe hygrometer designed for on-the-go moisture measurement in gases and non-aqueous liquids. With a rugged handheld design, built-in data logging, and compatibility with multiple probes ensure fast, dependable performance in demanding field conditions, delivering NIST-traceable dew point measurements across hazardous areas and high-pressure sample points up to 345 bar.

The PM880 is an intrinsically safe portable hygrometer designed for a wide range of industrial moisture measurement applications. Compact, lightweight, and easy to use, it is ideal for spot checks, surveys, and troubleshooting in gases and non-aqueous liquids.
Compatible with MISP2 moisture probes and M Series probes, it delivers NIST-traceable measurements across multiple units, including dew/frost point (°C or °F), ppmv, ppmw, %RH, and lb/MMSCF. A large backlit display and intuitive menu-driven interface provide clear alphanumeric or graphical data.
The instrument measures dew point from +10°C to −100°C with an accuracy of ±2°C above −100°C. Optional pressure and temperature inputs extend capability to high-pressure applications up to 345 bar.
Built for demanding field use, the PM880 is intrinsically safe, IP67 and Type 4X rated, and powered by a rechargeable battery providing up to 24 hours of operation, with optional IrDA communication.
The system can be configured as a ready-to-use kit with carrying case, probe, sample system, and accessories. A flexible stainless steel braided hose and PC infrared adapter are available as optional items.

FAQs

The PM880 measures moisture in gases and nonaqueous liquids, displaying dew/frost point (°C or °Fdp), ppmv, ppmw, %RH, lb/MMSCF for natural gas, and other units. It works with Panametrics aluminium oxide moisture probes, principally the MISP2 Moisture Image Series probe.

Yes. The PM880 is intrinsically safe certified to ATEX II 1 G Ex ia IIC T3 (−20°C ≤ Ta ≤ +50°C) and CSA Class I, Division 1, Groups A, B, C and D, Type 6. Batteries can be installed or removed in hazardous areas, but must be recharged in nonhazardous areas only.

The instrument supports operating pressures from 5 microns of Hg up to 5000 psig (345 bar), limited by the pressure sensor fitted. The SS880A sample system is rated to 3000 psig (207 bar) as standard, or 5000 psig (345 bar) optional.

The PM880 ships as a complete kit in a zippered soft carrying case: the PM880 hygrometer, the MISP2 Moisture Image Series probe (or an M Series probe) with cable and protective cover, a portable sample system, an MISP2 moisture probe, operating manual, battery pack and charger. Optional items include a flexible braided stainless steel hose and a PC infrared adapter.

Yes. Panametrics offers NIST traceable calibration, field calibration, rentals, moisture surveys, extended warranties and service agreements, along with onsite, factory or online training.
